The theme of our June 1 Pajama Story Hour will be Dreams. We will read stories, play games and will make a Native American Dream Catcher to trap bad dreams but filter good ones to the sleeper. This program targets preschoolers and runs from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Don't forget to wear your pj's and you can bring a "sleep buddy" if you like.
May 21 is the birth date of Mary Anning, British fossil hunter and discoverer of the first Plesiosaur skeleton. We will learn about her life as we Celebrate Fossils with stories and by making our own coffee grounds fossils. Children in grades K - 6 should enjoy this activity which runs from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Our first Saturday Celebration on May 7 coincides with the Kentucky Derby so our theme will be Celebrate Horses. We will do this with stories, games and by making a Marshmallow Horse Craft. This program is for kids in grades K - 6 and runs from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Our second Saturday Celebration falls just before Earth Day. On Saturday, April 16 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Celebrate the Earth with stories and by making an Earth pendant or sun-catcher. This program is for students in grades 3-6.
April 6 from 5:30 to 6:30pm we will have a Pajama Story Hour targeted to preschoolers. The theme will be Moon and Stars and we will read stories, play games and make pictures using stamps and cut-outs. We will also share a "starry" snack.
April 2 is the birth date of Hans Christian Anderson and one of his most beloved stories is The
Saturday, March 19 is National Quilting Day so we will Celebrate Quilts! from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. with quilt stories and by piecing together squares and triangles into paper quilt designs. All ages can enjoy this creative craft.
Book Discussion Wednesday March 30, 6 PM. This month's title is "My Garden (Book)" by Jamaica Kincaid with discussion leader Rachael Cohen. This is the 3rd in our "Farms & Gardens" series which is sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council and hosted by the Arvin A. Library of Richford and the Montgomery Town Library. This meeting is also made possible by support from the Covered Bridges Garden Club of Montgomery.

Mark you calendars for January 28 and 29 for Arvin A Brown Library's 3rd Annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover! Drop off will be on Friday from 3 -5. Bring in your favorite stuffed animal, we will take your picture together and take careful note of any special instructions for taking care of your friend - what's his favorite bedtime story? What kind of snack does she like? When the library closes the fun will begin for your friends. Saturday morning join us for a brunch snack and watch a slide show of all the fun of the night before!
We will be closed on February 21 so our Vacation Program days will be the 23rd and 25th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The theme will be Snowflakes and we will make a several different crafts using glue, pasta shapes, and several kinds of paper: tissue, construction, copy, scrapbook. This should be a fun program for anyone is grades K - 6.

February 19 is the Saturday before Winter Vacation. Our vacation theme is Snow so on that day we will Celebrate Snowmen! from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will have a variety of snowmen crafts and stories suited to grades K - 6.

February 5 is National Weather Person's Day, a great time to talk about weather! Our Saturday Celebration will run from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and we will read stories about sun, rain, snow, and weather in general. We will learn about some interesting weather folklore and will make a pinwheel to demonstrate wind. This program is for grades 3-6.

Since National Bird Day is January 5th, this Saturday Celebration will celebrate birds with stories and a cute birds' nest craft using plastic Easter eggs. There may even be a bird nest snack!

Adults can share coffee and goodies while the kids make a variety of Christmas cards. There will be a tree with edible treats for the children.
On Saturday, October 23 Arvin A. Brown Library will target pumpkins. Participants will learn how pumpkins became a Halloween symbol and will read stories. Pumpkins will be made out of construction paper strips and toilet paper rolls. All programs will be at the library from 11:00am to 12:00 PM.
