The remarkable residential, commercial and public architecture that comprises Richford village is the very picture of a thriving, early twentieth century commercial center that grew out of a booming lumber products industry. The downtown center at the intersection of River and Main Streets is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Over 200 buildings in Richford are listed on the Vermont State Register of Historic Places. Today the town retains an architectural landscape of homes from the Civil War era through the 1920's and an intact downtown of brick commercial blocks from the early twentieth century, which together reflect the historic prominence of Richford as a center of industry and commerce.
